Gain a better understanding of the basic principles of homeopathy, casetaking and remedy selection. Emphasis will be placed on identifying helpful resources and understanding how to use them effectively. We will also cover the use of remedies for common first aid situations and acute illnesses.

Morning Session-Introduction to Homeopathy:

  • The Law of Similars-the healing principle
  • The Law of Potentization-how remedies are made
  • The Law of Cure-how the body heals itself
  • Basics of casetaking
  • How to know if a remedy is working
  • When to change a remedy
  • Purchase, handling and storage of remedies

Afternoon Session-Commonly Indicated Remedies for Family Health:

  • Remedies for common first aid situations including trauma to nerves, soft tissue and bones; burn treatments; stings, bites and allergic reactions; dental remedies; and more
  • What to do for acute illnesses such as fevers, colds, earaches, teething, colic, digestive upset and more
  • Get your questions answered!

* This policy does not extend to other caregivers such as grandparents. In-arms infants under six months of age are welcome, but please find child care for babies and children older than six months.

This class includes the Introduction to Homeopathy morning session described above for the Family Home Health Care class and, in the afternoon, we’ll cover remedies for complaints arising during the childbearing year. These include concerns of pregnancy, remedies helpful during labor and birth, as well as a wide variety of postpartum issues for both mom and baby. Specifically, we will cover remedies to help with:

  • nausea of pregnancy and other digestive complaints
  • varicose veins
  • aches and pains
  • anemia
  • insomnia
  • urinary tract infections
  • miscarriage
  • malpresentation
  • back labor
  • emotional “dystocia” in labor
  • lack of progress in labor
  • trauma
  • post-cesarean healing
  • afterpains
  • postpartum depression
